“Southland abstract dark artist Atom St. George creates characters and landscapes that peek into his world—a world in which personal struggles with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) drive color, contour, and composition. In his work, we see screaming neurons and pain-twisted faces navigating thick anthropomorphic splatters. Atoms’ aesthetic pairs with his MS experiences to draw the audience into a world of discomfort and distress, but also of liberty and purpose. Atom works with various media, including colored pencil (2006—2010), oil (2011—2015), acrylic (2016—present), and ink throughout.” -Jen Hawk
“I paint a small monster almost everyday and feel worse on the days that I don’t.” -Parker Winans
